Create A Game Server

There are many methods to make money online and by performing a simple search, you can find out what these methods are and easily get started on some of them.

Almost any path you follow to make money online will require you to put in a lot of hours and research to lift it off the ground.

However, what I’m going to show you next requires almost no effort and no research in fact it’s a lot of fun. On top of that, you create it once and forget about it (unless you would like to update it of course).

Creating your own Game Server: This is one method that if used properly could generate a high amount of income and overtime can become a stable income stream for you and your family.

A lot of people who focus on making money online, do so by reading things about SEO (Search Engine Optimization), internet marketing and how to become online affiliates. However these people never seem to look at the other half of the internet population that isn’t interested in anything of that sort and wants to enjoy the internet simply by playing games online.thinkcomputers.org/5-things-to-consider-when-developing-a-video-game/

If you can see online gamers as potential customers, imagine the profit you can generate simply by knowing what these gamers are interested in buying.

This doesn’t require a lot of work, all you have to do is join popular online games and play them yourself for a little while to learn what people are interested in and what kind of items they consider rare and valuable. Some people don’t even mind paying real money to receive certain items in-game, if they had the choice of course. There are many games online that have no monthly fees and you can join for free.

On the other hand, you will notice that the best online games available will always have a monthly subscription fee. Sometimes people don’t like paying too much to play an online game or they might not like the competition they are up against since so many people are on the same public server that the company created.

This opens many opportunities for you, first of all you can create a gaming server for almost any online game that you find today such as “World of Warcraft”, “Call of Duty” and “MineCraft” just to name a few.

This is where your job begins. You will provide a game server for a certain amount of players to play on, and in return they get to pay you a monthly fee for renting a slot on your server that they can use to play.

Not only that, but you can also make money off rare items that you can sell to them in-game, for example in “World of Warcraft”, when you perform “Herbalism” you can acquire certain “Herbs” that will allow you to create very rare flasks that players use during raiding which gives them temporary “Bionic” powers preventing them from dying or giving them enough power to kill their opponent. Such “Herbs” are rare and can only be acquired on public servers created by the company by getting lucky when you perform “Herbalism”. But you can offer these “Herbs” on your private server in exchange for real money that players have to pay you in order to receive the item in-game and it wouldn’t cost you anything to create the item since you can easily spawn any item you want when you have admin powers over the server.

Controlling a game server also allows you to be in charge of the server’s “Message of the Day” which is a global server wide message that appears to players upon logging into the server. Within this message, you can advertise anything you want that you think your players might be interested in buying. It should be things related to the game and you can even leave links that will contain your affiliate ID so that when a player clicks on that link, you will get commission upon a successfully completed sale thus maximizing your income from your gaming server.

While setting up a server isn’t very difficult and you will find many free guides online about any game you choose to set up a server for, it doesn’t mean that it’s free or even cheap!

To set up a game server you can do so by following one of two methods:

1) Dedicating a computer in your own home and running the server on it, however in this case you will need a computer with lots of ram (memory) and a very fast internet connection. It’s usually not a good idea to play on the computer you are running the server on as this may slow it down. Also the number of players playing on your server will be very limited, since a higher volume would produce connection lag.

2) Hosting your game server on a paid private server that you can manage yourself, however the monthly fees for this type of server is very costly because it also depends on the bandwidth you will allow your players to have. To minimize the cost, you can decide from the beginning how many players you want to have on your server and that should give you a good estimate of how much bandwidth you will need to provide them with.

If you choose method 2 above, make sure you do your math properly because you want just enough players on the server so that it’s fun and at the same time their monthly subscription fees are enough to pay for server costs and to generate a decent income for you.
